Joshua Snyder Named Seaman Middle School Principal for Next School Year

We’re excited to announce Mr. Joshua Snyder as the new Seaman Middle School Principal, effective next school year.

Mr. Snyder has most recently served as the Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Assessment for Wellsville School District and Atchison County Community School District. Prior to that, he worked as an assistant principal and teacher for USD 377. In addition to his many years of experience in education, Mr. Snyder has distinguished himself in several ways as an educational leader in Kansas: Kansas Curriculum Leader Spotlight (2019), ECET Kansas Exemplary Educator (2017), Kansas Outstanding Educator of the Year (2016), VFW Atchison County Teacher of the Year (2016), and ILA Regie Routman Award Nominee (2016).

Mr. Snyder was selected from a pool of talented candidates in an extensive search that included input and participation from staff and parents. His strengths include student advocacy, communication, and instructional leadership. Mr. Snyder is committed to ensuring that all students reach their maximum potential while fostering collaboration and staff/parent engagement.

Mr. Snyder is a graduate of Kansas State University (BS in Human Ecology, MA in Elementary Education), Benedictine College (MS in School Leadership), and MidAmerica Nazarene (MA in Counseling). He also holds a Reading Specialist Certificate and District Leadership Certificate from Fort Hays State University and is a licensed professional counselor. Mr. Snyder is currently in pursuit of his doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction at KSU.

I plan to partner with students, staff, parents, and the community of the Seaman Middle School focusing on outstanding educational services for all students. My goal is to ensure that all Seaman Middle School students continue to experience Learning Without Limits."
